How we do it
From rug to bag.

A rug nobody uses
It has been on a floor for years. The colours have faded a little, but the pattern is still there. Nobody wants it anymore.

We measure and cut
The rug is measured and cut into the pieces needed for a bag.

The pieces are sewn together
The pieces are sewn together and get handles, a zip, lining and leather details.

A bag with a story
The rug nobody wanted now comes along on new trips. No new fabric was needed.

About Carry on
Why old rugs?
There are loads of kilim rugs that nobody uses anymore, even though the colours and patterns are still beautiful. We thought it was a shame that they just sit in storage or get thrown away, so we started making bags from them.
Carry on is a Swedish student company (UF). Everything we sell is made from rugs that already existed.

The bags are made from second-hand rugs. We do not buy any new fabric.
Handwoven
Kilim rugs are woven by hand, so no two rugs look exactly the same.
Unique patterns
The bags come from different rugs, so the pattern differs a little between them.
